SFZ3 Cammy and Vega

If you know anything about these 2, then I guess you know that this is gonna be confusing. Yes, it is very, very strange. Lord only knows what Cammy is, but she's definitely not thinking straight. And Balrog is just plain old psycho! (BTW - you should know this, but I use the real Japanese names for the characters, so... Balrog is the guy with the claw, Vega is the leader, and Bison is the boxer)

Most of their relationship is still unknown. However, they don't like each other at all. Cammy definitely hates Balrog, and as you will see, Balrog's feelings towards Cammy are like a love/hate relationship. He seems to love, admire, and respect Cammy, but at the same time, he seems to hate her. I think he's jealous of her power, skill, beauty, and rank in Shadowloo - that's what he loves and hates about her. There's nothing official, but everybody pretty much knows (thinks) that Balrog gave Cammy that scar on her cheek.

Anyhow, read through this first, and then I'll theorize about these two weirdoes some more...

Storyline... Balrog is a masked noble with blood red eyes of insanity. By order of Vega, the leader of the Shadowloo organization, he must find a girl girl named Cammy, and report on her experiences.

After Vega's lucky win...
	...Why, she's nothing more than an enhanced human! A mere doll! Why should I care? Why did Vega want her? What is her going to do with her... I thought I cared only for worthy foes, but... I suppose I should ask him about this girl...	99

Again, Capcom's half-assed storylines make this difficult. Vega's 3rd in command doesn't even know is personal bodyguard/assassin/spy!? Yeah, whatever...

Anyhow, it looks like Cammy is not self-aware here (another mistake I suppose). But other than that, the only important thing here is how we see Balrog's mixed feelings about Cammy - respect, care, disgust, anger, pity, confusion...

Now that he's got the girl, he goes back to his master with a few questions. Vega is an arrogant bastard, so I guess something like this was bound to happen eventually. It's just interesting that Cammy was the one who finally brought it about - Vega is fighting for somebody other than himself?!

Well, since you can never guess what a crazy man will do, you'll just have to just keep on reading...

Balrog's SFZ3 ending (with Cammy!)

Balrog attacks his master and somehow wins! Everything's strange in the world today because Balrog would normally not take a chance fighting somebody like Vega - he's a coward at heart, and won't take chances like that. He's mostly concerned with preserving his self-image (figuratively and literally). Another thing that's strange, is that he wins...

	Balrog... You are making a vital mistake... That girl... is a human weapon with the same DNA as myself... Losing control will cause the Psycho Drive to run wild and...
	Hee hee hee... Never mind... It's about time... It's about time to say goodbye to this body. Until next time... Possibly with a different name and appearance than now...!!
	Gwoooooaaahhh!!!
	(The entrance to the Psycho Drive opens...)
	(Cammy in the Psycho Drive...)
	...Underground?
	(Balrog attacks and destroys the Psycho Drive)
	Vega's substitute... his DNA... No... This girl could be reborn as a... ..............
	...Well that could have interesting possibilities, too. All I need is a beautiful and strong foe, no matter who it is.
	...come with me...beautiful soldier...!
	(A military jet arrives on the scene...)
	We've located Shadowloo's base. Ready for attack! ...!?
	The scan picked up some very potent energy. What happened!?
	...The base just exploded... Everything's been leveled... A faint vital sign slipped through. It must be Vega's... Blast! He escaped again...

Did I mention that Capcom is a real half-assed job on the storylines? Well, they did!!

Anyhow now that he's in total control of Cammy, his true feelings come out. I never really believed that he could ever find it within him to feel anything of another person. He seems so incredibly self-absorbed, that I never thought he had anything left for anybody else...

What's interesting is the mask he gives to Cammy... Remember, there is a doll who looks just like Cammy - but wearing a black mask like Balrog's. Check out the Z3 Cammy Misc section of the Gallery for some pictures of her...

Anyhow, I wonder what it all this mask stuff means.... Obviously nothing. Capcom didn't mean anything by it because they took no time to make sense - they just threw together whatever came to mind as far as storylines are concerned... that's why nothing makes much sense. We really have to stretch things and use our imagination to make anything of it. What a pity. Compared to the programming and stuff like that, creating a good storyline is simple stuff. And it's SO important.

And speaking of half-assed stuff - the ending says that 1 vital sign escapes, but 3 people (Cammy, Vega, and Balrog) make live to fight in SSF2. (now's a good time to use your imagination...)
