Welcome to my Puffy page! When I first went to Japan in 1996, Puffy released their
first single, and ever since then, they've been one of my very, very favorite bands.
Not only do they make great music, but they do all sortsa other things like host their own
late night show.
|Ami and Yumi are so appealing because like
Cammy, they offer you so much more than the standard fare. It's obvious that they're
great musicians, but they're also very pretty and stylish, funny (goofy!), creative,
adventurous, hardworking and much more. There's a lot to admire about these two
|If you know and like Puffy too, I hope I've
got some new and interesting stuff for you. And if you've never heard of Puffy
before, please let me introduce them to you... I think you'll learn love them as much me
and so many others!
|Everything on this site was taken from the
Puffy books, videos, albums, and other things I own, so hopefully it's different from
anything else you'll find. As for what's online, I really don't know much. I'm
sure there are a lot of Japanese Puffy sites, and I know there's now an official English
Puffy site at www.PuffyAmiYumi.com. But I don't know
if there are any good English fan sites (never seen one), so I decided to make one and
share what I know about them with you.
|Please help promote Puffy!
If you have a website, please feel free to link directly to this Puffy page. I don't
really promote it in ads, on search engines, or anything like that, so I really rely on
you all to spread the word. Anyhow, here are some banners you can use...
2002 - Wow, has more than a year already
gone by since I last updated the Puffy page?! It's been a REALLY busy year for me...
sorry! But, I haven't given up on Puffy. I still listen to them all the time,
and every once in a while I watch some of my Puffy videos.
|Anyhow, I only recently found out that there's
a new Puffy album! It's a new album, but nothing's really new... it's another
greatest hits. I don't really understand the point of it. There's supposed to
be a video for Boogie Woogie No. 5, but that's not working for me. If you wanna pick
it up, it's called "An Illustrated History", and remember that outside of Japan,
Puffy goes by the name of "PuffyAmiYumi".
|Again, I'm sorry for the lack of updates.
I still wanna do a lot more, but there's just not a whole lotta time for me to do
any work. But, at least I think this site is a good beginner's guide to Puffy.
Please check back every once in a while, because you never know when I'll have
something new and interesting for you to check out! Thanks.
|June 18, 2001 - This isn't really an update... but I just wanted to let you
know that I FINALLY got a copy of Spike!! I can't believe it's taken me so long
>_<. Anyhow, I ordered it through HMV.com, and it arrived today
(about 6-7 days later). If you don't have it yet, order it!
|I've been listening to the album online for a
few months now, and I've got most of the lyrics memorized, but it's really cool to have a
real copy that I can play anywhere! I got the CD in the mail and immediately hopped
in my new car, rolled down the windows, opened the sunroof (it was a beautiful summer
afternoon), popped new Puffy CD into my newly installed car stereo and just drove around
for an hour! Life doesn't get much better...
|Anyhow, the album rocks, and I can't believe
how much kick it has. As usual, almost every song is a different style (Rock, Surf,
Jazz, Pop, Punk, etc.), but they're all done as only Puffy can do 'em. So far, my
favorite song is without a doubt Boogie Woogie No. 5, but the song that's stuck in my head
is Ami's version of Sui Sui. Normally, I'm an NOT a fan of pop music... I'm more apt
to listen to the Black Crowes, Pantera, Otis Rush, Bjork, Parliament, Redman, or something
like that, but there's something really special about Puffy. They're just like
Cammy... there's too much to love for anybody to resist!
|June 14, 2001 - Another update! I've had a lot of this stuff done for a
long time... all I needed to do was organize it and put it online. Anyhow,
everything as been updated with more info and pictures, so you should probably check it
all out. Now I'm pretty much where I wanted to be with the Puffy Page, but don't
worry, I've got lots more stuff for updates in the future!
|June 10, 2001 - I just learned that Puffy is releasing their newest album,
"Spike", outside of Japan! That means that most of you will finally be
able to check 'em out! Unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a copy from Japan yet,
and it's not out here (though it's supposed to be), but I'll get it sooner or later.
In the meantime, the old stuff'll keep me happy!
|Anyhow, after about 2 years of on and off work
on this little Puffy page, I'm finally putting it up! I was waiting until I had
everything perfect (a major flaw of mine), but I realized that it would be much better if
I just got it out there first, and then worked on perfecting it! So, here
you go. I hope you like it! ^_^
